York primary schools are today celebrating an excellent set of results in their Key Stage 2 Tests. After a lot of hard work by both pupils and teachers, they were rewarded with achievements which are above the national average.
They did well in English, Maths and Science and thirty York schools have made improvements on last year's results. Looking at the top of the tables, 7 York schools were in the top 25% across the country and Tang Hall Primary School was the 38th most improved school nationwide.
Cllr. Carol Runciman, Executive Member for Education said:
"These results are great news for York. Our continued success means that we are now in the top 20% of LEAs in the country. I know that children, staff and parents will be very pleased with their achievements and will continue to work hard to maintain these high standards in the future."
"York can be proud of all of its schools but I would particularly like to congratulate Tang Hall school on their achievement of 38th most improved primary school in the country. "
