Cllr Carol Runciman, executive member for education on City of York Council will be joined by local head teachers and construction chiefs to sign an agreement that will herald the construction of four new schools in York.
The agreement between City of York Council, Sewell's construction and the Co-operative bank will see £15 million invested under the private finance initiative (PFI) to replace Hob Moor, St Barnabas' and St Oswald's primary schools and Hob Moor Oaks special educational needs unit with new facilities.
The formal signing of the agreement will take place in the Guildhall on Thursday 13th January at 11:00 am.
Cllr. Runciman said:
"This agreement has been a long time in the making so I am delighted that we are finally able to put pen to paper and the seal the deal that will bring four new schools to York."
"The £15 million investment is greatly needed and will help ensure that York continues to retain its status as one of the best places in the country to educate your child."
