Andrew Stunell MP and Cllr Carol Runciman recently met pupils from Hob Moor Children's Centre.
Andrew Stunell MP is the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Communities and Local Government, and was keen to visit York's innovative new school. Hob Moor is the first Children's Centre in the country to house both a mainstream school and a school for children with special needs under one roof.
Andrew Stunell MP said "I will be taking news of this building and the opportunities it gives to pupils back to Westminster and to other councils across the country. Hob Moor is a real example of what to aim for in a school for special needs. I really enjoyed talking to pupils and staff during my visit."
Cllr Runciman said "Hob Moor Children's Centre has brought a massive boost to education for children with special needs in this city. The range of equipment and activities available are wonderful, but most importantly special needs and mainstream education are integrated in one site."
