Cllr Richard Moore at the Green Lane bus stop
Clifton Without residents have a new bus shelter at the bus stop on Green Lane, at the junction of Milton Carr. It will serve residents who live in Green Lane, Milton Close and Cayley Close and use the Number 14.
This new bus stop is being funded by the Skelton, Rawcliffe and Clifton Without Ward Committee, in response to requests from residents for a bus shelter in this location.
Local Liberal Democrat Councillor Richard Moore, who represents this ward, agreed that a shelter is necessary, and was happy to support this at the Ward Committee.
He said, "Residents have justifiably asked that a decent bus shelter replaces the bus stop post which is there now. We want to encourage more people to travel by bus, and it is therefore important that we support residents' requests and provide decent facilities, particularly as, with the current cuts in services, buses may not be as reliable and frequent as before and therefore bus shelters are all the more useful."
