Cllr Ayre at new Bus Stop which now also includes timetable information
Another success has been made in Cllr Nigel Ayre's campaign to save the number 13 bus route, as new bus stops have now been added to the Woodlands Grove section of the route in Heworth Without.
Liberal Democrat Councillor for Heworth Without, Nigel Ayre, called on First to liaise with City of York Council to improve the two bus stops along Woodlands Grove. The old bus stops were in a very poor state and neither of them had timetable information.
Cllr Ayre, said: "It is very important that the number 13 service continues, and I was therefore very keen to see these weathered bus stops replaced and timetable information added. The new stops will be of great benefit to local residents, particularly the large number of elderly people who use the number 13."
"Residents are playing their part by supporting this service and patronage has increased. Hopefully this will continue if improvements are made to the route where necessary, as with these new bus stops."
