Fulford's Liberal Democrat Councillor, Keith Aspden has welcomed the news that City of York Council are to carry out resurfacing work on Heslington Lane.
The road will be resurfaced between the junctions at Main Street and Fulfordgate. Work is set to begin on Monday the 16th of February and will last for one week.
During the work there will be temporary road closures between 9.15am and 4pm. Diversions will be in place during these times, however, pedestrians will have access to the road.
Councillor Aspden said he was pleased the work would be getting underway soon. He said, "I have spoken to many residents about the problems with the surface of this road, and I am very pleased that work will soon be underway to repair them."
"In recent weeks we have seen improvements to Main Street in Fulford, with the construction of the new traffic island near Eliot Court as well as the consultation on improvements to bus lanes and cycle paths in the area."
"I will continue to work with local residents to look at ways in which we can improve local roads for Fulford Residents."
