Young people from across York will gather at a special event later this month, where they will be presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The young people, all aged 14 to 25, have taken part in a variety of activities on their way to gaining either their Bronze, Silver or Gold awards. Activities included volunteering and expedition activities.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is coordinated by City of York Council's Young People's Services.
The event will include presentations from the young people on their experiences of the scheme, before the Lord Mayor presents them with their awards.
Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Children and Young People's said she was looking forward to attending the event. She said, "The young people have all worked very hard to gain their awards, they should be very proud of their achievements. I look forward to hearing about their experiences.
"It is important that young people are given opportunities like this to develop themselves and take part in meaningful voluntary activity. I would like to praise the work of the staff at York Young People's Service and the volunteers who make the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme such a success."
The awards event will take place on the 27th of February at the Citadel.
