BENEFIT FRAUDSTER PLEADS GUILTY

Commenting on the news that Clare Grey from York has pleaded guilty to fraudulently claiming over £4,500 in benefits, Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Corporate Services, Councillor Richard Moore said:

"I am pleased that once again someone who has attempted to defraud the Council has been caught and punished."

"Anyone thinking of making a false claim should be aware that we will prosecute fraudulent claims and will make every effort to recover the money paid to the fraudster."
