Films created by young people taking part in a unique science and arts project in York will be showcased next week as the Biomation project holds its final celebration event.
Biomation is a unique two-year project combining science and art to help children and young people explore the social, emotional, scientific and clinical aspects of diabetes, Asperger's Syndrome and arthritis through animation, film, digital media and creative writing.
The international award-winning project was a joint partnership between City of York Council, York Hospital Art and Environment Group and Lime Trees Child, Adolescent and Family Unit and was funded by the Wellcome Trust.
films created by the young people taking part in the project will be shown at a special celebration event next week at the National Centre for Early Music.
Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion Councillor Nigel Ayre will be attending the celebration. He said, "The Biomation project has been a fantastic success, it has really brought people together to explore and understand conditions that affect a number of young people in the city."
"I have seen some of the films created by the young people and they are excellent, I am looking forward to meeting the young people and seeing the rest of their work at the event next week."
