Children and young people in York will be able to fill their October half term with some exciting new activities as City of York Council's School's Out programme continues to improve.
There will be two new fantastic activities for children and young people who enjoying being active outdoors, with mountain biking a Dalby Forest and rock climbing at Brimham Rocks.
Nature lovers will also benefit from the expansion in activities with the offer of new activities including spring bulb planting at Clifton Backies and hedgehog spotting at West Bank Park.
There will also be a wide range of other activities taking place in the holidays with something sure to meet everyone's taste. City of York Council's School's Out magazine has full listings of all the activities on offer.
Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion, Councillor Nigel Ayre said the range of activities on offer to children and young people was continually expanding.
He said, "The School's Out sessions are always very popular and I'm sure that the addition of these new and exciting activities will encourage even more people to join in."
"It is good to see so many activities on offer that get children and young people active and taking part in physical activity. Dalby Forest is a great place to go mountain biking and I am sure many people will be keen to take up the opportunity."
