Next month will see the beginning of major improvements to the footpath on Whitby Avenue in Heworth Without.
From 2nd November, City of York Council's Neighbourhood Services team will be carrying out work to repair and resurface the footpath as well as improving the vehicle crossings.
The work follows the resurfacing of the footpaths on Hilbeck Grove, which took place earlier this month.
Heworth Without's Liberal Democrat Councillor, Nigel Ayre said, "This year will see over £120,000 spent on resurfacing roads and footpaths in Heworth Without."
"The Liberal Democrat administration increased the amount of funding for road resurfacing in the budget this year by over £1m. It is a clear priority to respond to the desire of residents to see their local roads and footpaths improved."
Councillor Ayre vowed to continue to push for more improvements to roads and footpaths across the ward. He said, "Talking to residents in my ward it is clear that they appreciate the extra money that has gone into improving their roads and footpaths."
"I am glad that I have been able to help deliver improvements in the ward and I will continue to campaign for further improvements in the future."
