Parents and carers of young children who live in the Knavesmire area of York are being invited to have their say on what they want to see from the city's newest Children's Centre at Knavesmire Primary School.
The new £1.3m Children's Centre, which will be the city's ninth centre, will open in April next year.
Children's Centres provide a range of local services and support for families with children under 5. The services are provided by a multi-agency team of professionals from across Children's Services, the NHS and other organisations.
The consultation event will take place at Scarcroft Learning Centre (next to Scarcroft School) on Tuesday 10 November between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.
Information on the services are offered at existing children's centres will be available and staff will be on hand to discuss the options on offer.
Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Children and Young People's Services, Councillor Carol Runciman said she hoped parents and carers would get involved in the consultation.
She said, "Parents and carers who use the existing Children's Centres find the services they offer very useful and the activities are certainly very popular with the children."
"However, each local area has its own needs and we therefore need to make sure the new Children's Centre provides services that are tailored to the needs of the local community."
"I hope that parents and carers of young children in the Knavesmire area will take part in the consultation events so we can make sure they get the most out of the new centre."
