York residents who want to have their say on the Council's budget for next year have until the end of the week to submit their responses to the consultation questionnaire.
Every household in the city received a copy of the consultation document, which is also available online at www.york.gov.uk/consultation.
Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Corporate Services, Councillor Richard Moore said it was important that residents had their say on proposals in the consultation.
He said, "The results of the budget consultation will inform the Council's priorities when we set the budget for next year. With public spending likely to be reduced dramatically over the next few years it is important that we have a clear set of priorities on which to focus our funding."
"Therefore, it is vital that people complete the questionnaire and let us know where they think our priorities should lie."
Councillor Moore added that the consultation would also include proposals to improve customer service for people using Council services.
He said, "The consultation also includes questions on proposals such as allowing people to pay their Council bills at local shops and Post Offices. The aim is to make it more convenient for people to pay bills, rather than them having to visit the city centre finance office."
"We want people to have their say on these proposals so we can ensure that we are providing a better service for our customers."
All responses to the consultation must be submitted by Friday 18th December.
