Fulford Residents will see improvements made to Heath Moor Drive, off Heslington Lane, as part of the £1m boost in the Liberal Democrat budget for the City of York Council's major resurfacing programme.
Heath Moor Drive's inclusion in the list of roads to be resurfaced over the next financial year was approved tonight by Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Neighbourhood Services, Councillor Ann Reid.
As part of the 2010/11 resurfacing programme Heath Moor Drive will be resurfaced at a cost of £50,000 while the footway at The Old Orchard, off School Lane, will be resurfaced at a cost of £1,000.
Fulford's Liberal Democrat Councillor, Keith Aspden welcomed the news saying, "Residents have been keen to see improvements to Heath Moor Drive and so I am pleased that it has been included in the resurfacing programme."
"I have been campaigning for some time to get Heath Moor Drive included in the list of roads to be resurfaced and am pleased that action will be taken to improve this road for residents. Potholes have become a concern in this specific case and the investment will resolve these issues."
"I will continue to work with local residents to look at ways in which we can improve more local roads for Fulford Residents."
