Councillor Keith Aspden
This year's popular Fulford Show will be held on the Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2010, 1p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on the Parish playing field at School Lane.
The Fulford Show raises money for local and national charities and is great fun for the whole family. The event was re-instituted after the original show moved and became the Great Yorkshire Show.
This fun community event has free entry and includes charity stalls, tombola, face painting, a beer tent, refreshments, miniature railway, family sports, the pub Tug of War challenge and much more.
Competitions are held and all entries are welcomed, including beer and winemaking, bakery, photography and painting, flowers, vegetables and arts & crafts. There are also a number of children's competitions, including handwriting and arts & crafts. Exhibits should be brought to the Parish Council Social Hall, School Lane from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.
Liberal Democrat Councillor for Fulford Keith Aspden said, 'The Fulford Show is great fun and can be enjoyed by all the family.'
'I would really encourage people to come along and enjoy the Show because it's a fun community event which supports local charities.'
'Last year's show was a great success, and I'm sure this year's will be just as popular. The hard work and dedication of the people involved is essential to what makes the Fulford Show such a great event.'
Parking is kindly provided by Fulford Secondary School down Fulfordgate and refreshments are available from the Sports Club pavilion and on the show ground.
