York residents now have an easy way to keep up to date with the wide range of cultural events on offer in the city.

The 'Yortime News' e-bulletin provided by City of York Council showcases upcoming events in the city, allowing residents to see where and when events are taking place.

As well as information on the cultural events that regularly take place across the city, the e-bulletin will feature information about events in the city's parks and upcoming leisure promotions and activities.

Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion, Councillor Nigel Ayre said, "There are so many events going on in the city that sometimes it can be hard to keep up with what is on offer. The new Yortime News bulletin will give people and easy overview of what is on offer so they can make sure they don't miss out."

"People often only think about particular venues when they are looking for leisure or cultural activities but there is so much going on all over the city. Yortime news will help to open people's eyes to the vast amount that is on offer to them.

"Yortime News will also help local groups to promote their events to a wider audience and will hopefully encourage people to try out something new."

"There are always such a wide range of events taking place that I am sure there will be something to suit everyone's taste. I would encourage everyone to sign up so they can take advantage of the fantastic opportunities to get involved in culture in the city."
