Hull Road Lib Dems are urging City of York Council to speed up their plans to repair the bridge over Osbaldwick Beck at Moore Avenue.

Local Campaigner Danielle Mason said “We contacted the council in early June about the dangerous condition of the footbridge and followed this up in September when the council told us that they have made the bridge safe and have applied for funding to either improve or replace the bridge. This bridge and the one further downstream near Tang Hall Lane are both in a poor state and urgent action is now needed to repair them.

“When we recently inspected the condition of the bridge it was clear that there is still a risk that someone will get hurt with a big gap at the edge of the temporary fix in which you can catch your foot. We are calling on the council to bring forward their plans before someone is hurt.”
