York 2023: Liberal Democrats want your views
York Liberal Democrats have launched their ‘York 2023’ consultation; an opportunity for local residents and businesses to share their views and ideas on how to improve the city.
With six months to go until the May 2023 elections in York, work is well underway to create an ambitious Liberal Democrat manifesto. As part of the ‘York 2023’ consultation, the Liberal Democrats want to know what residents would like to see in our 2023 manifesto; from big ideas that affect the entirety of the city, to smaller suggestions on what you would like to see change in your local area.
All submissions will be reviewed and considered as we plan the party’s main priorities for 2023 and beyond. To participate in ‘York 2023’, please let us know your thoughts by emailing york23@yorklibdems.org.uk
Cllr Keith Aspden, Leader of the York Liberal Democrat Group, commented:
“Since the 2019 local elections, 21 Liberal Democrat councillors have been proud to serve York residents, supporting the city through the unprecedented challenges brought about by the pandemic, investing in our communities, building affordable homes, creating world class community and business spaces, progressing with ambitious city-wide projects and creating a cleaner and greener city.
“We are now only six months away from the local elections and it is important to us that our manifesto reflects the aspirations of the residents and local communities we represent across the whole of York, as well as the challenges and opportunities we see in our city.
“York 2023 is a fantastic opportunity for local residents and businesses to let us know directly what they would like to improve or change in our city. If you have ideas you would like to see us develop, let us know!”
Cllr Anne Hook, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group added:
“As local Lib Dem councillors, we work hard for our communities across the city, whether that be investing in new playgrounds, supporting community groups or fixing local issues. There is much we have achieved locally and city-wide since the last election, but with the city and our residents facing unprecedented change and challenges, we are keen to hear your ideas.
“I would urge everyone to get involved in York 2023 to make your views and ideas heard so that we can take these forward and consider them as part of our new manifesto.”
